2024 Pollinate Conferences

Midland Conservation District
We got to highlight some great resources we have in our community, from a barn saved from destruction and turned into an educational center to preserving our lands for the future and feeding the community.
The feedback we received from the attendees was great and everyone enjoyed the presentations. We had our last presentation on location and had lunch catered by a local school culinary class and that was a big hit.

Marquette Conservation District
We led conversations about farm to table marketing, building a brand, agroforestry, farm to school programming, and more, and 30 participants shared their challenges, successes, and ideas surrounding these topics. We had two wonderful tours, checking out the inter-generational farm that Partridge Creek Farm has created for the folks of Ishpeming, and seeing the UP's first curbside compost operation with Partridge Creek Compost. Thank you to these amazing sister non-profit organizations for the work they are doing, and for being a part of our event!
The whole day was made possible and free for attendees due to local sponsor Lundin Eagle Mine. Thank you for supporting these important conversations!

Allegan Conservation District
Female farmers & conservationists had such a great time learning from presenters Kelly Goward, ODC Network's Conservation Connections and Lisa Russcher, Precision Pork and J&J Russcher Farms. The luncheon at the Griswold Auditorium was catered by The Grill House/The Silo and was delicious! Everyone had a great time completing the scavenger hunt in historic Downtown Allegan that ended at the Allegan Pollinator Garden. Extra thanks to Morgan with Ottawa Conservation District & Michigan Association of Conservation Districts for helping create a safe space for this free event.
